KILN BUILDING BUSINESS
1/1/2014
Building kilns has become a large portion of my business. In 2011, I completed kilns for Circa Restaurant, Suzy Hatcher and Steve Skinner. In May 2012, I completed a wood kiln Dr. Jonas Hurley located near Springfield, Kentucky - At the end of October 2014, I built a "sweet" kiln for Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. I also recently completed a small kiln for Sebastian Moh. My crew and I headed to Morgantown, Kentucky and in the spring 2015, I built a wood kiln for Susan Renfrow, then on to Steve Skinner in New Carlisle, Indiana, to build a cart kiln; then to Monte Youngs in Ohio. In September 2016, I will be in Baltimore building a kiln for Baltimore Clayworks. Check out my Facebook page. Please give me a call if you are interested in a quote. FOUR ROSES DISTILLERY

Four Roses Distillery commissioned me to create a series of works detailing the following steps: Grains (Corn, Rye, Malted Barley); Yeast (Lab Test Tube, molecules); Fermentation (Wood Fermenter); Distillation (Doubler); Transport (Wheel); Aging (Barrel); 3 Signature Products. This was one of the most delightful (and challenging) projects that I have ever undertook. A very special thanks to Kelli Wright at Four Roses and the entire staff for their input and support. A formal dedication is planned sometime before the end of 2016. Please check my facebook page and website for more details. Pictures can be seen on my photo gallery page. The display is at the Four Roses visitor center in Bulllit County.

GOVERNOR'S AWARDS IN THE ARTS 2016
10/21/2016
I am proud and honored to be chosen as the Award Artist for 2016 to create the Governor's Awards in the Arts. The Commonwealth's most prestigious arts awards honor Kentucky individuals, business and organizations that make significant contributions to the arts in the state. The combined achievements and contributions of this year's esteemed group of recipients demonstrate the many ways that citizens of Kentucky uphold the tradition of creating a rich cultural legacy. For a complete list of the recipients, please see the Kentucky Arts Council website. I have included a picture of the 24" wood fired platters with stands. A public ceremony recognizing the 2016 Governor's Awards in the Arts recipients will be held October 21, 2016, at the Capitol Rotunda in Frankfort, Kentucky, at which time the platters will be presented. Thank you to the Kentucky Arts Council for selecting me as the Award Artist..
NAMED GSA VISUAL ARTS CHAIRMAN
1/1/2019
I am honored to have been named the chairperson for the Visual Arts Department at Governor's School for the Arts beginning January 2019. I was a 1998 graduate of GSA and returned to serve in many different capacities during the past 20 years. Two years ago, I was named the Ceramic/Sculpture Professor. This step is a reflection of my teaching philosophy and my devotion to the arts in which I strive to develop partnerships that expand the field, the community, benefit the Commonwealth, and honor the traditions of generations of artists.
